Over 150 men and more than 100 women flooded into the Figtree facility in the last day – but not at the same time!
On Monday night, Figtree hosted MEAT (Men Eating And Talking), which seems to have been true to its name – they get some raw meat, go outside and cook it. Brett Davies, head of Christian Surfers International, then shared God’s word, and many men heard the gospel. Mark (MTC team member) was able to talk with friends that his billet had brought along and reported that they seem to have found Brett really engaging.
Less than 12 hours later, on Tuesday morning, women arrived for the weekly Creative Connections, where they complete various craft-y activities and hear a short talk from the Bible – this week given by Steph (MTC team member). This ministry has been continuous for over 25 years, and most of the women who attend are not followers of Jesus. I was able to share my testimony and make an excellent card – I’ll be happy to have card-making parties when I get home to use my new skills!
Please Pray
– that men who heard the gospel at MEAT would commit their lives to Jesus
– that women who have come week in and week out to Creative Connections would consider God’s word as it is taught each week and that they might come to know God personally
