There’s nothing like neutral ground to promote candid discussion, and on Wednesday night Forestville RSL was Switzerland. From high school students to church members’ parents, there was diversity amongst the guests of the ‘Jesus is _____.’ Q&A night ‘Don’t all religions lead to God?’. The crowd was gathering to quench their curiosity about the question common to humanity, being ‘what is the way to God?’. The majority of those in attendance were from St David’s, but the handful of newcomers marked many a milestone in the ongoing efforts of church members to share the gospel with their friends.
To kick the night off, Greg Anderson spoke on whether all roads lead to God. This was followed by an opportunity for audience members to write down their questions, after which Greg was thrown some prickly ones.
Is it just for there to be one way to God?
What about those who never hear the gospel?
What evidence is there that Jesus is that one way?
A rush of these questions were put forward, and Greg found time to offer up gracious and thoughtful responses to fifteen of these questions in just over half an hour. The night raised new ideas for guests about God’s justice and the person of Jesus, also serving as a great encouragement to church members, prompting a handful of newer Christians to consider the more challenging facets of their beliefs.
Please pray as guests go away with some further questions about the gospel, that they would be stirred to investigate Jesus further. Please also praise God for the small number of guests who expressed interest in taking part in a Christianity Explored course at St David’s, and ask that they would take up this opportunity.
