Have you ever sat around a table eating sushi and chocolate spiders during a Pentecost Sunday sermon? What about singing the same song verse 11 times, 10 in indigenous languages? Have you ever had the taste of ‘Dugong’ described to in rapturous tones of reminiscing? Or met a construction worker from Northern Africa who is passionately evangelising everyone he meets? All of these experiences and more were had at a very special service in Sanderson, a suburb of Darwin. I can promise this church service was different to any you’ve ever experienced – liturgy interspersed with food, group prayer, dramatic Bible reading and lots of singing. Our little team was so encouraged to be part of what God is doing at St James, and we leave with grateful hearts about His work in this place.
