Our Tuesday may have looked a little like yours…
Waited for public transport? Our awesome team headed out to the three of the M2 bus stops at 7am! We handed out mini zines and lindt chocolate for people to read and devour on the long bus trip into the city. They were also invited to the different events on this week.
Had a morning coffee? We may have been on the other side of the machine though! We handed out free coffees at the next door preschool and local primary school, while inviting people to Northmead’s Open Week and trying to get into conversations about Jesus, their beliefs, and what the Bible says.
Rested in the evening? Well the women did some resting, indeed! The amazing team at Northmead Anglican put together an incredible night of ‘Rest and Relaxation’ for the women of the church and their friends and family. Heather from the church taught us how to make bath bombs, then we had a go ourselves at the stations set up for us. There were also stations where you could get your nails done and have your hands massaged! A massive effort by the ladies at the church, whether they organised the night, assisted at the stations, made the food, cleaned, or the many other jobs involved in running an incredible night – and they so much fun along the way!
Further into the night we heard from Leah on how she turned down a prestigious life as a doctor to pursue a life teaching people about Jesus. Leah shared so eloquently and we could see her conviction of the gospel so clearly.
I had the wonderful privilege to share the message of Jesus that night. Together we took a look at the problem in Romans 8 of a groaning world; pointing out the affects of sin on the world, our lives, and our relationship with God. Although the world offers us hopelessness in the face of this groaning, Jesus offers a certain hope that things will be reconciled in Him.
Ok, so our Tuesday may have looked a little different but I’m sure you’ll join with us in praying for all that happened on our dissimilar days.
Four things to pray for:
- Thank God for a really encouraging day of working alongside the church and the conversations we were able to have.
- Pray that the people invited to Northmead’s Open Week at the M2 bus stops, the preschool, and local primary school would come to the events and church on Sunday.
- Pray for the women that heard about Jesus at the ‘Rest and Relaxation’ night, that they would recognise their sin against God and would want to follow Jesus.
- Pray as the team rests today (Wednesday).
