After the big day of Tuesday, Wednesday had been set aside for a rest day.
We got to experience a beach nicknamed… get ready for this… “the Farm”. Once upon a time the rolling greens that led to the beach was a farm. Urban myth has it that surfers used to jump the farmer’s fence and tried to make their way down to the surf, much to the frustration of the farmer, who would get out his gun and give them scare.
Safe to say, there wasn’t any guns this time around, and instead we got to celebrate Ben Lattimore’s Birthday (Happy Birthday Ben!). A day of beach NFL ended with David Simmons (2nd year) winning the game with a ‘hail mary’ pass to Brian Luong (1st year). Celebrations (or commiserations) were had at the local fish and chips shop afterwards.
A day of rest has put us in a good position for the rest of the mission. Please pray for the rest of the days we have:
Thursday
- For the teams door knocking throughout the whole valley of Jamberoo that they would be able to have meaningful conversations about Jesus
- For the teams door knocking in Oak Flats that we would make most of the way through it and invite them to “Back to Church Sunday”
- For the Oak Flats and Jamberoo Public Scripture assemblies, that the team would be able to communicate to the young minds what the Gospel really is about
Friday
- For the teams from 8:30am to 2:00pm running a whole heap of high school CRE classes, that they would not run out of energy in their lessons and be bold to proclaim the good news of Jesus
- For the Warrigal Retirement Home service, that the team would be listening and caring to those often forgotten in this world, and they would be able to comprehend the Real Hope they can have in Jesus
- For the multitude of kids clubs programs run at Oak Flats; kids club (K-2), Andy’s club (3-6), Refuge (7-12). Please pray for Karl Bonner (3rd year) as he gives a talk to Refuge and for the team as they run discussion groups
Saturday
- For the Men’s breakfast and Edward Stocks (3rd year) as he gives an evangelistic talk and Dave Simmons (2nd year) as he gives his testimony. Please pray that many would be invited to the event not from church
- For the Jamberoo team at Markets as they play music and engage with locals and talk to them about Jesus
- For the Jamberoo 5pm “Back to Church Sunday” – the team has been praying that new families come along to this service and so please pray that this would be the case
