This morning four of us continued a coastal garden blitz for some of the women at Coast EC church.
This time around it was Alex, David, Tom and Seb who were lending a hand to Rhonda. Our task was to clear an array of pesky vines and foliage which had grown up over one side of her house, as well as to expel the unwanted invasion of weeds from a neighboring fence.
Rhonda has had a particularly tough time over the past two years. She has been receiving advanced chemotherapy treatment and her health has made attending church and looking after the garden a lot more difficult of late.
At the end of the job there was sunshine pouring through the side window of Rhonda’s house, which had previously been totally covered over with vines much to her joy.
Afterwards, Rhonda shared with us an entry from back on May 7 in her Notebook where she had listed down 10x recent Prayer points she had asked the Lord’s help with. Providentially, #7 on the list was a request for God to provide, “help for her in her yard”.
The five of us were greatly encouraged and also thankful to our Sovereign & Loving Father God who had planned our little unplanned venture to be the answer to someone’s back of the notebook prayer.
A timely reminder of the gracious God we serve! “The LORD is God, and he has made his light to shine upon us.” Psalm 118:27a
