Another mission week is over. But what a week!
We vox-popped and garden blitzed. We pondered the big questions while gazing long into the crackling bonfire. We spent hours in craft and playing footy with the local kids. We testified to Jesus in high schools and primary schools. We were generously invited to look ‘under the hood’, to see the inner-workings of Coast EC. And most of all, we were spurred on by the gospel-driven lives of those at Coast EC, to spread the Word of Jesus, to see His kingdom spread and to see lives transformed!
To tie off these blog posts, I’ve invited a few members of the team to share some very brief thoughts, reflecting on the week gone by.
Please thank God with us for all the He is doing in Forster through Coast EC!
“My first experience of college mission has been excellent! I have been so encouraged by those who love Jesus in Forster and have a desire to proclaim his name to the rest of their community. I found the relaxed pace of life allows for genuine conversations and relationships to develop. We were encouraged to be bold in asking people about Jesus and their relationship with him which lead to some deep conversations.”

“The needs are great all over the world. There are so many places that need more workers. I’ve been convicted to pray more fervently to the Lord of the Harvest to send out more workers into all the world.”

“This week has truly been a blessing to me in so many ways. As I’ve served alongside those here at Coast EC in the picturesque location of Forster, I’ve been struck by two very distinct things:
- The absolute beauty and majesty of God
- The absolute brokenness and pain of life without Jesus
It’s clear that while we can try and fill our lives with so many good things, they ultimately fail us and never quite deliver what we thought they promised. They leave us tired and unsatisfied. But God in his great mercy has called us out of that through Jesus. While we can try our best, we will fail – but God never fails and, in fact, He has already done it all in Jesus.
Mission has taught me that no matter where we go, who we meet or what we do – that truth never changes.”
