Thursday began with Rachel and Ada joining in with the playgroup hosted at St Martin’s Anglican. We got to chat to several mothers and their kids. It’s an excellent outreach opportunity into the community. We got to sing some Colin Buchannan songs (10, 9, 8…God is Great!) and learn a new rendition of a classic lullaby called ‘Twinkle Twinkle Vegemite’. Many laughs were had.
Aaron, Dave and Ada taught SRE to years 2 and 3/4 in the afternoon at Ulladulla PS. We were partnered with some SRE teachers from the local Baptist and Pentecostal churches which is an encouraging witness of partnership in the gospel.
This evening, the whole team got to spend time digging in God’s word with a bible study group that is led by Lesley (President of the Bush Mission Organisation) that has been running for the last 17 years in Bawley Point! We were led through Hosea 9-10 in a helpful exegetical format that helped the group to think deeply about the depth of Israel’s sin and the greater mercy of God to redeem his people from it.
Praise & Prayer:
PRAISE God for faithful SRE teachers and keen ears of children at SRE to listen and engage with the lesson. For the faithful leadership and guidance of elders at Ulladulla-Milton Anglican churches particularly in the discipline of regular study of the scriptures.
PRAY for God grow the congregation and bible study members at Ulladulla-Milton to be transformed by the Word of God and this will protect the church from being ‘lukewarm’ and ineffective witnesses of the gospel.
