Today was our day off so a bunch of us headed to the beach!
The day off didn’t stop the seniors team from hosting a senior’s afternoon tea. It was a fantastic event where many of the St David’s regulars connected with those from the retirement village. Praise God for the impact this event had on those who came, for example a lady with signifiant dementia responded with “I really needed to hear that”
Our seniors team have been doing such an amazing job so I thought it would be fitting that we hear some stories from the team!
This is Sarah who’s in third year and has been really encouraged by the woman she’s being billeted by. The woman is elderly and widowed and has been an encouraging example faith, please pray as she faces ageing and loneliness and praise God for examples such as these!
This is Lucy is in first year and has been really encouraged by the seniors at St David’s who have been encouraging the Retirement Village residents. It’s exciting to see that St David’s church has been taking their partnership with the village as a mission field.
This is Brownie in first year, who had an encouraging conversation with a woman who we’ll call J – you can pray for her as she’s dealing with the loss of her husband and finds comfort in prayer.
