Today’s numbers: 200 sausages, 70 colouring in books, 1 jumping castle
9am
The day began with a sausage sizzle at the local shops. It was free and aimed at advertising the St David’s carnival in the afternoon. We gave away over 200 sausages and were able to make contact with lots of locals.
2pm
A few of us left to go to CCNB’s women’s event on mindfulness. A psychologist came in to speak about the usefulness of mindfulness in helping combat stress and a woman from the church spoke about the place of her faith in overcoming anxieties. There were about 70 women who attended and everyone left with a colouring in book and plenty of helpful techniques.
Meanwhile, St David’s held their free carnival for the local community. While it was only held for three hours, hundreds in the community attended. Pray that God would use this event to bring many more to know him through the work of St David’s. There are plenty of pics so enjoy!
And our bonus picture(s) for the day has to be the pre-carnival fun that was had, showing the partnership between the team and the church by a minister and a student taking advantage of the kids entertainment 🙂
