Sunday was jam packed. After talking with the rest of the team Erin remembers the first day on mission.
We heard a lot of good news on Sunday.
The numbers of participants at Christianity Explored doubled since last week. Two ladies in particular who had came back had really great questions. They are very excited about the events this week and were asking about coming along to church. This was a very encouraging time for Brian and others running the course.
It was kept in the family at the 6pm service with Nate Swift giving his testimony and Steve Beattie preaching. Nate’s testimony was one of God’s amazing grace. Then he picked up a guitar and sang of God’s hand in his life. It was beautiful.
Following on the “Jesus for the whole life” theme Steve spoke on Matthew 6:16-34. He took up Jesus’ challenging people’s external actions to their heart motivations and asked what is was that we treasured and what it was that we trusted. Spoiler alert: the answer is that God is a Father who delights to provide.
A few of us were planning on going out to dinner afterwards but after many people bailing, and the famous Petersham Portuguese chicken being shut, it ended up being more like four of us… back in King Street… where we slept. Not in the gutter, you’ll be grateful to know.
