Meet Victor and Rob!
As these two second year boys went out for their second time door knocking this week they thought about how they could quickly get into a conversation with the person standing on the other side of that screen door. Here is their three-step process to disarm and engage. First, say that they’re from Northmead Anglican. Second, inform that they aren’t there to sell anything! And third, ask them if they had one question about Jesus what would it be? It was a great method for the boys to engage into a conversation about Jesus. They encountered two women, both with different stories. One thought that the Bible was just a bunch of made up stories and Jesus was not God. The other was all about universal love and reincarnation, reaching perfection by working on different aspects of your soul. Two different women, two different stories, with two different beliefs, but one need for Jesus.
Meet Miriam!
This is Miriam’s first Moore College mission! She had the chance to share her testimony at the Winston Hills congregation Sunday morning. It was a wonderful chance for her to encourage the congregation with her story of how God worked in her life. She amazingly became a Christian when she was 5 years old and has continued to grow in understanding and love for Jesus! Miriam is a wonderful part of the team, not only because of her cheerful smile but also because of her passion for the gospel and to see people be saved.
Meet Maggie and Rob!
Both in first year and super keen for mission, these two went out door knocking and met an ex-nun. This lady used to serve as a nun but gave that up after being taught that Jesus was not God! She no longer believes that Jesus died for sin or that He rose again in defeat of sin. Although claiming that she still loves Jesus, she has had little to no exposure to the Bible recently and doesn’t have her faith in Him.
And of course our fearless leader, Philip Kern (right), with the team clown, Matt (left).
Four things to pray for:
- Thank God for our second day at Northmead Anglican.
- Pray for all the people we met today while door knocking. Whether we were able to have conversations or not, please pray that they will get to know Jesus.
- Pray for the Women’s Rest and Relaxation event tomorrow night, that many women will understand that Jesus brings us into relationship with God by taking on our sin.
- Pray that God will sustain the mission team and the Northmead Pastoral team as we continue in partnership together through this mission.
