Coffee cart and chatting to people in the morning, followed by meetings, prayer than prep for the week ahead. It was a sudden change of pace after the fairly full Sunday that involved seven church services at three locations. There was some level of tiredness among team members, given a big first day.
The free coffee stand was set up in the church car park, in a visible spot on the corner of Castle Hill Rd and New Line Rd, both major roads. The church is also on the way for many parents going to West Pennant Hills Primary School and Binnowee Kindergarten. Mums and team members were glad to share a coffee on a cool morning at the start of the week, just before some miserable weather set in.
Meanwhile, team members who would be serving at Cherrybrook Technology High School and Pennant Hills High School spent some time with the teachers responsible for the Christian studies classes at those schools. Praise God for allowing Christian studies to be a part of those two public high schools. Praise God that the local churches have cooperated to raise funds to support the Christian studies teachers who are able to reach and plant seeds among kids who would otherwise have very little contact with the gospel.
The team then went through the coming week, then prayed for the week, the team and the church. Please also pray with us. Thank God for a church that is so excited about the gospel. Give thanks for the opportunities to teach and to learn that are coming up this week. Pray that God’s Spirit would move in people’s hearts, to encourage those who already call him Lord, and to bring others to a saving faith.
